Is that the Governments plan? Do we have a national emergency on our hands?
Liz Kendall, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions is cutting disability benefits designed to give some support to the most vulnerable in our country. The reason is the government are attempting to plug a budget gap by taking money from the poorest and most vulnerable in society. Her next target is YOU. She is going to raise the DWP pension age, so if you were born between 1961 and 1977 you are about to be robbed.
Our current system of government is failing. Fundamentally flawed. The figures speak for themselves. Millions of people have been thrown into limbo this week, co-dependent on small sums of benefit and work income to survive. Why?
The issues we face in our country could be fixed by raising a 2% income tax on the country’s billionaires. £24 billion would be raised which would plug the £22 billion deficit created in the last 13 years. Dale Vince, the owner of Ecotricity has said he would “be happy to pay such a tax.”
“Good governance is the process of measuring how public institutions conduct public affairs and manage public resources and guarantee the realization of human rights in a manner essentially free of abuse and corruption.”
Well, we fail.
The press is owned by the super wealthy. Social media is used to peddle disinformation and manipulate the masses. The politics of divide and rule, the oldest trick in the political book is rife and alive and kicking throughout the politic system.
Quisling politicians are positioning themselves well to take advantage of people’s fear, greed and vulnerabilities and give our country up to the world super powerful warmongers as their power base grows. It’s a repeat of pre World War 2 politics, the rise of the fascists.
The news about the poor and pensioners being attacked tells me that leading politicians in the UK are in a race to the bottom. Are they attempting to prop up a political system that is simply not fit for purpose? Are they targeting the most vulnerable to try and fix the mess? Driving the sick and disabled back to work under the pretext of giving people dignity is quite obviously a lie.
Our own consumption is making society sick. Working environments are unhealthy, people are under incredible stress resulting in a mental health disaster. The environment, economy, society, local and wider community is in danger, the chances of war high.
Is there a solution without revolution? The answer is a resounding yes.

Leaders who emerge through the process work together to support their elected representatives with a network of people they establish. People will talk, listen, debate and reflect, most will vote because the nature of the Listening Matters discussion is to catalyse and empower people to act. Leaders emerge.
Any Member of Parliament or Councillor will benefit from this discourse and network unless they oppose the community with a damaging agenda.
In our experience the network supports the most vulnerable in neighbourhoods and this saves public money.
We’re talking about an invigorated, refreshed and safe politics.
In 2001 Julia and I could see clearly that people needed to be listened too and engaged in public life. We warned politicians of the danger to democracy if we did not organise this. There was a power vacuum waiting to be filled. UKIP moved in to fill it physically in communities and online.
It’s now our belief that we have a national emergency. Failure to listen and to mobilise communities effectively have left our country divided, lacking resilience and floundering. Our global enemies are rejoicing having actively supported this dangerous agenda.
